Question by Pinky: From anorexia to bulimia. HELP!?!?
Background: December 09- Boyfriend got deported back to Germany. Started crash diet of sugar free jello and apples. I was 5’9″ and 140 pounds at the time (age 18).
May 2010- I got down to 120.
June 2010- Went home for summer and my brother tried to commit suicide and I had two surgeries that went badly. 115 pounds
August 2010- 105 pounds.
September 2010- entered “recovery” with a therapist in September, but refused to gain weight till end of October. She yelled at me all the time about not eating enough. I started to binge eat entire rolls of cookie dough and jars of peanut butter due to intense cravings my body was having for those foods.
December 2010- 126 pounds.
Even though I am now at a normal weight, I continue to binge on a daily basis : ( I have a HORRIBLE sugar addiction. I usually consume anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 calories a day. Alot of the time it is junk food such as mcdonalds burgers, popeyes, and taco bell….foods I would have NEVER eaten before anorexia. I’ve always been quite a healthy eater, although I did have anorexia in 7th grade as well. I just got diagnosed with gastroparesis (food doesn’t digest), so eating anything at all makes me super full and my belly look pregnant.
Not to brag, but men are extremely attracted to me. I look like a model, but to me I feel so ugly. I get asked out on a daily basis and have even once dated a White Sox player. The only time I feel good about myself is after a guy flirts with me, but it is short lived and I will go home and binge anyways. I am so afraid I am going to become HUGE and no one will want me, yet I can’t stop binging. I have a strong compulsion to binge eat, even if I just have something healthy. It’s either eat everything….or nothing at all. I can’t have money with me, or any food in the house or I will eat it.
The only way i’ve managed to stay 126 for now is because I do hours of exercise daily. Like yesterday I did an hour of zumba, some class that burns 700 calories in an hour, another hour of zumba, and half hour on the treadmill.
What can I do? Therapy isn’t helping and my insurace won’t pay for hypnotism, which is supposed to work well for bulimia/anorexia.

Find a therapist who specializes with eating disorders or get into a treatment center.

Many recovering from anorexia are actually on meal plans between 3000-4000 calories.
