Im standing behid this guy that has been a big drinker for 20+ yrs. he has just lost a son to car wreck and is now in AA and going to church he has been sober for 1 mnth. Im so happy for him. He is also seeing a Dr. that gave him meds so if he drinks it will make him throw up. The Q is How many go back to there old ways? And when is the most like time they start back? Im keeping my hopes up ! And all his drunk friends have been stayin away. I hope thats good also.
I will never give up on him.

It actually depends on the person, many have at least one to three times of going back before they stop completely. the key is do not over react if he “falls off the wagon” at least a couple times. Stick by him, if he is determined he will make it sooner or later.

You might want to check with your county mental health department or just run a search for “long-term drug rehab in New York”. I found several sites for private facilities. You will, too.
