Question by Reeraw: Isn’t it illegal for employment and licensing agencies to ask medical questions?
Hypothetically, isnt it illegal when applying for a job or license for that agency to ask you personal health history questions such as, “In the past 5 years, have you ever been to or treated by any drug and/or alcohol program.” I am confused because I thought it was against HIPPA regulations for them to ask such a personal question. This is a medical issue and should be kept confidential, especially if their is NO criminal history. I am very bothered by them asking this and I would appreciate a little insite. Thanks.
